Paracetamol; a liver killer
Published on April 8 in The Sunday Telegraph , this article titled “Tablets top list of liver killers” exposes some worrying statistics that paracetamol; a drug found in a number of headache tablets including panadol has surpassed hepatitis and alcohol to become the most common cause of liver failure in the country.
“Doctors are being urged to exercise caution when prescribing paracetamol following cases of patients suffering accidental poisoning after taking only the recommended dose of the painkiller.”
